New Service will be available!! – Support Package for Foreign CEOs in Japan

■ Who is this for?

Foreign CEOs who wish to establish a pharmaceutical company (Kabushiki Kaisha) in Japan with a Japanese co-representative (COO).

Recommended: Prepare at least 51% of the initial capital to secure majority ownership and management control.

(Note: This is not a legal requirement under the Companies Act.)

Legally, at least one representative director must have a registered address in Japan.

■ Can foreigners establish a company in Japan?

Yes. A foreign national can establish a KK or GK without living in Japan.

Condition: appoint a Japanese COO or co-representative who resides in Japan.

With this structure, the foreign CEO can own and manage the company without obtaining a Business Manager Visa.

If desired, the CEO may later relocate to Japan by applying for a Business Manager Visa as an option.

■ Capital

Legally: from 1 JPY.

Practically recommended:

JPY 5 million+ to demonstrate financial credibility.

JPY 10 million+ if applying for a Marketing Authorization Holder (MAH) license.

  • What types of companies (phases) are eligible for support?

    We target companies in a wide range of phases related to pharmaceutical development, from university research to newly established startups and venture companies aiming to expand their business. Please feel free to contact us for a consultation.

  • How much does the consultation cost?

    The first consultation (approximately 30 minutes) is free. We will provide you with an individual quote based on the specific support content and period. We also offer subscription-based services. Please contact us for details.

  • Can local businesses receive support?

    Yes, we support companies all over the country, mainly through online meetings. On-site visits are also possible if necessary.

  • Can we sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA)?

    Yes, we will strictly maintain the confidentiality of your consultation. If necessary, we will sign a non-disclosure agreement at the early stages of the consultation.

  • Is it necessary to join the association?

    Membership in the association is not required to use the consulting services. We are currently preparing seminars and certification exams to improve your abilities as a pharmaceutical industry supporter. Those who pass the certification exam will be given the association's certified advisor status. Members receive benefits such as seminar discounts, priority participation in networking events, and business introductions. Please see the membership information for details.

In response to the issue of Japan's declining drug discovery capabilities, we were established with the aim of building an ecosystem to support university researchers and start-up companies. We provide comprehensive support from drug discovery to drug approval, building the next generation of pharmaceutical industry. We also support the smooth entry of foreign companies into the Japanese market.
